Brandon Miles

Brandon is an accomplished economic development and land use professional, having nearly two decades of experience working in local government in the State of Washington. He currently is the Business Relations Manager in the Office of Economic Development for the City of Tukwila. He is the City’s primary economic development liaison to major development projects such as the Prato District, Starfire Sports (home training ground of the Seattle Sounders and home stadium for the Seattle Seawolves), and the Tukwila light rail station area. He is highly experienced with permitting and developing policies such as the multi-family property tax exemption.   He leads the City’s tourism promotion program and created the City’s first tourism and economic development brand (experiencetukwila.com).

His real estate interests include tax policy to encourage affordable housing, creating great urban spaces, and branding of neighborhoods. He hopes to use his MSRE to expand his knowledge of the private market place and learn how the public and private sectors can work collaboratively to create sustainable communities for all.

Brandon has an MBA from Seattle University, with a graduate certificate in marketing and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Planning and Policy from Western Washington University.

When not balancing his school with his full-time job in local government, Brandon enjoys playing sports, specifically basketball, tennis, weightlifting, and swimming. He also volunteers as an associate board member for his credit union and can be found cheering on the Seahawks, Seawolves, Mariners, and Sounders.
