Vlad Gilszmer

Vlad is a Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) student at the University of Washington’s Runstad Department of Real Estate, pursuing the program with advanced standing. Vlad graduated from Cornell University in May 2025 with a Bachelor of Science from the Nolan School of Hotel Administration, where he developed an interest in real estate through coursework in hospitality real estate, finance, accounting, and investments.

Following graduation, Vlad joined Lockton Companies in Seattle as an Associate Account Manager on the Commercial Real Estate team. In this role, he works closely with commercial real estate clients, supporting insurance and risk management needs, analyzing renewal and financial information, and coordinating with clients and underwriters. His experience at Lockton has given him exposure to the operational and risk management side of commercial real estate and strengthened his interest in the broader real estate industry.

At UW, Vlad is continuing to build his knowledge of real estate finance, investment, financial modeling, and data analytics. He plans to leverage his academic and professional experience to pursue a career in commercial real estate, with particular interests in real estate investment, asset management, and finance.

Outside of academics and work, Vlad was a four-year member of the Cornell Men’s Varsity Swimming and Diving team, competing in the Ivy League Championships and ranking among Cornell’s all-time top performers in the 500 and 1000 freestyle.
