Nikita is the department’s academic adviser. Born and raised in Gary, Indiana, Nikita C. Anderson received her Dual BA degree in Professional Writing and African American Studies from Purdue University. After leaving the Midwest, she spent nearly 16 years on the east coast. She holds an M.A. degree in English from Morgan State University, with a concentration in Screenwriting and Cinematic Storytelling and an MFA in Creative Writing and Publishing Arts from the University of Baltimore. Nikita has spent the last 11 years in higher education and six years in academic advising. Nikita is a writer, who loves all things cultural, plays, music, museums, film festivals, etc. When she is not writing, she loves listening to music, participating in book clubs, binge-watching Netflix, and playing RPG video games.
