Seeking Doctoral Student in Housing and Data Analytics (Autumn 2026 Start)
Prof. Vince Wang (vrwang@uw.edu) and Arthur Acolin (acolin@uw.edu) invite applications for a Ph.D. position starting in Autumn 2026. We are looking for a student with an interest in housing policy, real estate finance, land use regulation, and urban inequality.
We seek applicants who demonstrate: Academic training and/or professional experience in real estate, economics, public policy, urban planning, or related fields; strong quantitative research and analytical skills demonstrated by reports, class projects or published papers; Experience with statistical and spatial analysis methods.
If you have an interest in doing research on access to housing through rental or homeownership programs, including shared equity homeownership, alternative lease structures or direct rental assistance or on the impact housing has on households wellbeing and health outcomes, we would love to hear more.
Prospective students should note that the College of Built Environments offers two doctoral programs: the Ph.D. in the Built Environment program and the Urban Design & Planning Interdisciplinary Ph.D. program.
