Blake Koeller is a Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) student at the University of Washington, graduating in Spring 2026 with advanced standing. A first-generation college graduate and the first in his family to pursue a master’s degree, Blake recently earned his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from the University of Washington. He has built a foundation that bridges hands-on construction knowledge with a growing passion for real estate development, positioning himself to make a lasting impact in the built environment.
Blake has gained professional experience through two internships with leading general contractors. Most recently, he worked as a Project Engineer Intern at Swinerton in Seattle, where he contributed to projects across healthcare, hospitality, and civic markets. Prior to that, he interned with Kiewit Corporation in Southern California as an Electrical Field/Office Engineer Intern. Alongside these roles, Blake ran and operated his own home improvement business before and throughout college, independently funding his education while delivering customized solutions for clients.
Within the MSRE program, Blake is particularly interested in development, with a growing curiosity toward multifamily housing while continuing to explore other sectors. He is also passionate about sustainability and the role of innovative building practices in creating environmentally responsible developments. Outside of academics and work, Blake finds balance through time outdoors, with hiking as his favorite hobby, alongside weightlifting and spending time with friends and family.
Blake’s journey reflects self-determination, resilience, and a commitment to growth. As he advances through the MSRE program, he looks forward to combining his construction background, entrepreneurial spirit, and academic training to shape thoughtful, sustainable projects that serve both communities and the environment.
