Catherine is the Vice President of Strategic Infrastructure at Google. In this role she spearheads global infrastructure strategy, securing multi-billion dollar deals and pioneering innovative financing models (e.g., AIaaS, synthetic leases) to optimize CapEx and generate new revenue streams. This is achieved through government partnerships and cross-functional teams, ensuring strategic market position and accelerating infrastructure deployment for critical Google initiatives. Previously, Ms. Fisher led the Energy and Location Strategy (ELS) team at Google. In this role, her team executes the efforts to power and place Google’s critical data center infrastructure. Her leadership is central to devising and executing strategies for the global energy portfolio, ensuring a sustainable and resilient energy supply to meet Google’s ambitious environmental goals. Catherine’s remit includes overseeing the strategic procurement of essential resources, encompassing land, utilities, and cutting-edge infrastructure, all vital for the expansion and operation of Google’s data centers.
Energy and Location Strategy is responsible for long-range supply planning, anticipating future needs and developing innovative solutions to secure the necessary capacity and offsite infrastructure. Her team’s work underpins the scalability and efficiency of Google’s global operations.
Catherine brought a wealth of experience to Google, honed over three decades in high-impact roles. Previously, she was a GM/Partner at Microsoft, leading the Global Land team and previously directed Strategic Projects alongside the Global Lease Portfolio. These roles showcase her expertise in large-scale real estate and infrastructure development. Prior to that, as Managing Director at CBRE she was responsible for strategy, project management, operations, and facilities management for the Microsoft Account across the Americas.
