Ivan Perilla is a dedicated real estate professional with a strong foundation in research, appraisal and public policy. The son of Colombian immigrants, Ivan developed a lifelong interest in placemaking, the built environment and cities. He holds a degree in Urban and Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia and has built a diverse career spanning both public and private sectors. His experience includes roles at the Fairfax County Tax Department, City of Pittsburgh Planning Department, CoStar, Kidder Mathews and Ryan LLC.
While in the public sector in Fairfax County and the City of Pittsburgh, he gained insight into public policy, property tax, zoning and development. At CoStar, because of his demonstrated research and data management ability, Ivan was selected by management to seed and grow the new global research HQ in Richmond, VA and trained new researchers in London, UK. As an associate appraiser at Kidder Mathews, his focus was primarily apartment and mixed-use multifamily properties throughout Washington state. Currently, as a senior property tax consultant, he has saved clients over $1 million in taxes across WA, OR, AK and ID, and prepared well over 100 tax forecasts for pre-acquisition and predevelopment projects, including those under MFTE and Oregon’s Vertical Housing Development Zone programs.
Ivan is excited by the opportunity to deepen his market expertise through the University of Washington’s Master’s in Real Estate program. Outside of work he enjoys tennis, skiing, painting and travelling.
