Jack McCullough

John C. (“Jack”) McCullough is a founding principal of the law firm of McCullough Hill Leary, PS.  Mr. McCullough holds a bachelor of arts degree from Harvard College (1978) and a law degree from Harvard University (1982). He was a Harvard Commencement Orator in 1982.

Mr. McCullough has practiced for 37 years on behalf of land owners, users and developers throughout the state of Washington, emphasizing land use and real estate financing and development.

From 1989 to 2010, Jack was general counsel to the Downtown Seattle Association, where he was Chair for 2012-2014. In 2015, he brokered Seattle’s “Grand Bargain” on affordable housing, and has since served as co-chair of Seattle For Everyone, the multi-interest stakeholder organization supporting the implementation of the Grand Bargain. In 2019, he negotiated an agreement with the City of Seattle, on behalf of Downtown property owners, regarding the size and implementation of the Central Waterfront LID project.

Mr. McCullough is listed in Chambers USA:  America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, in Woodward-White’s Best Lawyers in America, in Washington Law & Politics’ Top 100 “Superlawyers” and Top 40 Environmental Attorneys in Washington, and in Seattle Metropolitan Magazine’s Top 100 Lawyers in Seattle.  In 2010, 2012, 2016 and 2019 he was named Seattle “Lawyer of the Year” for his land use practice by Best Lawyers in America.
