Mr. Makar has been involved in the financing of real estate for over 30 years. He retired as an Executive Vice President of CBRE Capital Markets and was previously President and part owner of North Coast Mortgage (NCMC) which was acquired by CBRE. Prior to being President of NCMC, he was a Senior Vice President in real estate lending for both Security Pacific Bank and Rainier Bank. In all these positions, he had both leadership and loan production duties. During his career, Mr. Makar arranged over $4.5 Billion in debt and equity financing for real estate projects. After retirement, Mr. Makar became a member of the faculty as an adjunct lecturer at The Runstad center
Prior to entering mortgage banking, Mr. Makar had experience in real estate development at the Rouse Company and in institutional lending and investing at Connecticut General Insurance Company (now CIGNA).
He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Brandeis University. and a Master’s in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
