Steve Franceschina

Steve Franceschina joined Metzler Real Estate in 2005 and serves as President and CEO.   Steve has responsibility for the formulation and implementation of North American real estate investment strategies for the firm’s institutional and private clients.  Since 1976, Metzler has provided investment advice and asset management services to foreign capital in United States real estate markets.

In fifteen years at Metzler, Steve’s been involved in the acquisition and asset management of $4.5 billion in commercial office buildings and hotels on behalf of Metzler’s largest international client.  Prior to joining Metzler, Steve served as Investment Director, Asset Operations with Schnitzer Northwest.  There, he directed asset management of a 9 million square foot portfolio of office and industrial properties.  Steve’s start in the industry was with Martin Smith Inc.  In his eleven years at Martin Smith, he gained experience in property, construction and asset management and leasing.  Steve advanced to the position of Chief Operating Officer and Director of Asset Services.

Over his career, Steve has supervised and implemented the asset management of over 30 million square feet of commercial real estate.  Steve has consistently created value through identifying market opportunities, renovating, rebranding and implementing aggressive leasing programs for core and value-add office investments.  Currently, Steve and the team at Metzler are launching Metzler’s first value-add investment platform.
