Sydney Yoshikawa

Sydney is a strategic, agile data analyst pursuing a Master of Science in Real Estate at the University of Washington (UW), where she has an interest in furthering her ability to drive innovative long-term solutions and influence strategic decisions in diverse environments. She hopes to utilize her data-focused skillset while expanding her expertise in quantitative modeling, market analysis, and investment strategy. She previously graduated from UW, where she studied economics, real estate, entrepreneurship, and sales. As a self-described “jack of all trades,” during her time at university, she enjoyed interning at a biotech hedge fund, running her own cosmetics start-up, and racing for the Washington Ski Team.

After college, Sydney went on to work for United Airlines, where she worked on their capacity forecasting and strategy team as an analyst under their network planning and alliances department. Here she worked on monumental projects for the industry, such as the the largest widebody airplane order in history, where she helped to forecast growth for the next decade, leveraging her data analysis and storytelling abilities for high-impact decision-making.

Sydney transitioned to Marriott at the end of 2022 as a data analyst with a focus on revenue and customer conversion, which required a stronger focus on technical data knowledge. Here she made a splash by identifying a new focus in a channel’s revenue strategy and is now overseeing the major initiative in the transition.

Parallel to her professional achievements, she has pursued her lifelong passion for travel, visiting every continent with her camera in tow. This global perspective has enriched her problem-solving abilities and deepened her understanding of diverse cultural contexts that impact her data and consumer decision-making behavior on a wider scale. Originating from the gloomy Pacific Northwest, Sydney loves the outdoors and has begrudgingly learned to embrace type two fun. So when she is not five espresso shots deep into working on a pivot table, she can be found scaling any rock she can find, hiking up a mountain at sunrise to photograph a secluded tribe, or being active and connected to her environment in any form.
