Ellen Akopyan

Born and raised in the Bellevue area, Ellen pursued her undergraduate education at the University of Washington (UW) studying Real Estate and Business Administration. During her time at UW, Ellen continued developing her skills and helped establish the UW Personal Finance & Investment Association. She also restarted the UW Armenian Student Association, as a means of bringing the Armenian youth of UW together.

Growing up in an accounting family, Ellen gained experience by working at her parents’ firm from a young age. While in college, Ellen received her Property, Casualty, Life, and Health Insurance Licenses and began working at State Farm. Ellen enjoyed the Sales environment and produced 19% of the overall output all while being the only part-time employee in the office.

Looking to specialize further in her undergrad career, Ellen embarked on a finance internship at Aegis Living, where she was exposed to the luxury senior living finance department that supported the firm’s immense development operations. After graduating Cum Laude with her Bachelor’s, Ellen joined Cushman and Wakefield as a summer intern, where she worked in research and brokerage to assist with day-to-day operations. Ellen discovered that the role aligned with her career aspirations because it brought together the technical aspects of finance with the art of sales.

Ellen joins us at the MSRE program to further develop her industry skills and make meaningful connections in the industry in order to better serve clients.

In her free time, Ellen loves to spend time with family and friends. She also enjoys working out, trying new restaurants around town, and playing soccer, tennis, and golf.
