Tommy Phillips
Tommy Phillips is a forward-thinking real estate professional pursuing a Master of Science in Real Estate at the University of Washington with advanced standing. His academic journey includes recently graduating last Spring with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a focus in Finance from the Michael G. Foster School of Business. During his time as an undergrad, he completed four internships in the real estate industry, graduated in only three years, and earned a remarkable cumulative GPA of 3.67.
Tommy’s hands-on experience includes serving as a Real Estate Capital Intern at KeyBank, where he played a crucial role in commercial real estate finance, specializing in Community Development Lending with a focus on Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) deals. Additionally, as an Investment Real Estate Research Intern at 11 Capital, he contributed to high-quality market and property research, refining his skills in data analysis and financial modeling.
In a Property Management Internship at Equity Residential, Tommy excelled as the sole intern for the Washington market, actively leasing apartment buildings and providing support for tenant databases. Earlier, as a Real Estate Acquisition Intern at Venture Real Estate Group, LLC, he conducted market research and wrote a total of six comprehensive newspaper articles for their real estate investment newspaper.
Tommy’s proactive approach and leadership extend to extracurricular activities, including co-founding Blitz Brew Coffee Company and proposing real estate development plans. His commitment to social responsibility is evident through organizing fundraisers and community involvement.
During his free time, Tommy enjoys being competitive through working out and playing basketball. In fact, he is also a scout player for the University of Washington women’s basketball team, helping them get prepared in practice. Tommy also enjoys being competitive through chess as he is a 1500 ELO. These activities not only underscore his dedication to maintaining a balanced and active lifestyle but also reflect his strategic and competitive mindset across diverse domains.
